Sherman Oaks - California

The community of Sherman Oaks is located within City of Los Angeles, about 14 miles northwest of the downtown core, along the south central rim of the San Fernando Valley. It is a financial center of the Valley, and home to commercial and savings banks and stock brokerages.

About 50% of the resident population is employed by Sherman Oaks businesses, making it a very self-supporting community. Particulary strong are the service, retail, and finance industries. With the recent growth of local restaurants, Ventura Boulevard has earned the title of "Restaurant Row."

In the summer, temperatures range from the 50's to the 80's, making outdoor activities a pleasure. And local parks, a state university, and two community colleges together provide sports, music, and theatrical activities to the community of Sherman Oaks.
