Important Facts About the Westside Real Estate Market

"Right now, people should be aware that things are moving tremendously fast!" says Michael, and the statistics for the Westside back him up.

Since 2002, we have seen tremendous growth in the Los Angeles area, especially in Westside real estate, fueled primarily by the entertainment industry and a resurgence of interest in the Los Angeles area. "We had a number of years of decline, but now we're seeing large companies coming back to Los Angeles. It's true, we can't seem to get a pro football team, but on the upside, if you buy a home in Los Angeles, you can expect your property to continue to appreciate in value. A home here can again be thought of as a wise financial investment." On the Westside, fixer-up homes are as popular now as homes that are ready to be lived in. As the inventory stays very low for move-in condition homes, homes that need to be remodeled are a great alternative.

"If you move to the Los Angeles area," Michael says, "you should expect an outdoor lifestyle." L.A. is 5 minutes from the ocean, 1/2 an hour from the mountains, and 1 1/2 hours from the desert. In three days someone could go surfing, skiing (at such famous resorts as Mammoth Mountain and Big Bear), and mountain biking, and not spend more than four hours in the car. Also, Los Angeles is highly culturally diverse.

"When some people think of Los Angeles," says Michael, "they think only of Hollywood. There is much more to the area than that." The Getty Museum, set up like a college campus and full of exciting events and exhibits, is considered to be the largest museum in the world. Another large museum, Skirball Center, is also located in the Los Angeles area.
